Data usage & source rights
You may publish 4ort charts and numbers (share of attention, share of voice, tone, trending ranks, history) in your reports, articles, decks, videos and client deliverables, including commercial ones, with this attribution: "Source: 4ort.xyz, using Wikimedia pageviews (CC0) and the GDELT Project." No extra licence is needed for display.
Sources behind the numbers
| Source | What we use | Licence |
|---|---|---|
| Wikimedia pageviews | hourly and daily article views per language edition | CC0 1.0. The dump README states: "All Analytics datasets are available under the Creative Commons CC0 dedication." (readme) |
| Wikidata | entity identity, classes, occupations, official links | CC0 1.0 (licensing) |
| GDELT Project GKG 2.1 | news discovery, extracted names, V1.5Tone | Unrestricted use, including commercial. GDELT's terms: "any use or redistribution of the data must include a citation to the GDELT Project and a link to this website" (terms, gdeltproject.org) |
| Publisher headlines | title, publisher domain and link as evidence | Belong to their publishers. We show the headline and link only and never redistribute article bodies. |
What this means in practice
- Charts and derived numbers: publish with the attribution above.
- Headlines: quote them as citations with the link, as you would any news source. Re-publishing article text is between you and the publisher.
- Wikipedia article text is CC BY-SA. It is not part of these products, so no share-alike obligation flows from them.
- Raw data in bulk (exports beyond your own watchlists, feeds, redistribution as a dataset) is a separate licence: agents@4ort.ai.
Per-fact licences for the wider knowledge graph: Sources and Attribution. Commercial terms: Terms.
